Hello shane31,
It's exciting to learn you're using QuickBooks Online Accountant to help streamline your business and get ahead with your work. I'll be happy to steer you in the right direction so you can continue to do the things you love.
In order to manage your clients in QBOA, I encourage you to check out the following article as it shows you how to: Manage clients in QuickBooks Online Accountant. Based on what you've described, I gather you're looking to move a client that's under your list. One option is to transfer the billing to the client or by making them inactive on the list. The article shows you how to make a client inactive from the list you've pointed out above in your question. You're more than welcome to ask other questions as you go through the article.
I'll be one message away in case you need anything else. Otherwise, I wish you a great rest of the day.
Thanks for the reply. Actually, what I'm hoping to do is move my firm's books from the included "your books" in QBOA to a separate, "regular" QBO subscription. I have discovered the functionality isn't the same with the "your books" version, and that's causing problems for my bookkeeper.
tks,
Shane
I'd like to get a visual reference of the screen you're on. Could you send me a full screenshot showing the screen with your firm's books? You're more than welcome to cover any sensitive info that may be in the screenshot since this is a public support channel.
Sure. The area in red in the attached is the version of QBO included as part of QBOA, for use by the partner firm, for their own books - explained here: Do your firm’s accounting in QuickBooks Online Accountant (intuit.com). I am currently using that, but would like to "convert" that company to a regular QBO subscription, ideally without losing any configuration or history,
Thanks for providing the screenshot. Based on the details you've shared, I gather you're looking to access your account as a regular QuickBooks Online account and not a QBOA account. Is this correct?
I'm not sure how to best explain this. I have a QBOA account. In that account, I am using the included "your books" version for my company's books. I also have other "regular" QBO subscriptions associated with that QBOA account (clients). So I want to maintain the QBOA account, and not impact any of the client accounts. But I no longer want to use "your books" - I want to move that company to a regular QBO account.
I see what you're saying. What you've described isn't possible. The functions that closely resemble what you've described would be client-related such as moving a client to their own QBO and out of your books. I can see the benefit of having the function you've described, and I recommend sending feedback about this to our engineers. You can send feedback by clicking on the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. In the meantime, feel free to ask other questions, I'm here to assist.
