I understand your concern about potentially losing all of your data if you cancel payroll. QuickBooks Online Payroll is an optional feature for our customers, and you can rest assured that your QuickBooks Online data will not be lost.
All information recorded in payroll remains in the system, even if you cancel your subscription. Please note that you cannot cancel the service until the end of the billing period. If you want to access any records or forms again, you will need to resubscribe.
If you entered employee information and ran payroll but canceled your subscription before printing T4s or ROEs, you would need to resubscribe to payroll to select and review those items for printing. However, you can continue to use all other features in QuickBooks Online, and all of your data will remain intact.
