I'm using QuickBooks Pro 2018.
I have my credit card connected through Bank Feeds, but I recently got a replacement CC (same account) but with a different CC number and couldn't import bank feeds anymore because the accounts didn't match.
I followed the steps mentioned in this thread, but when I got to the step to go to Banking > Bank Feeds > Set Up Bank Feed for an Account, I got an error:
"No FIs found in FIDIR file. C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks 2018\components\olb\branding\filist\fidir.txt"
After some searching, I found this article which explained how to update the financial institutions directory. I followed the automated steps, but I don't see a Refresh accounts icon or option to Sync all accounts. I followed the manual steps and downloaded the txt file to the directory, but upon opening the Set Up Bank Feed for an Account it gave me the same error as above and replaced the contents of the fidir.txt file with the following contents:
FILIST
0
I tried setting the txt file to read-only so quickbooks didn't overwrite the file, and that got me a little further. I was able to select the credit card account, then I was able to search for my financial instituion on the next step (TD Bank Online Banking - New), but after hitting Next, I got this error:
"An unexpected error occurred. The branding and profile servers could not be accessed. Click Cancel to discontinue setup and then retry setting up the account for online services again. Error message number: [[OLSU-1011]"
I found this article, but it wasn't helpful (I don't see the settings that it mentions in Preferences). Any help with this?
QBD 2018 is outdated since May 2021. Were you still able to use the feed bank until a few days ago?
Yes, I was manually importing files downloaded from my bank accounts
I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not. IE11 is EOL as of today and Intuit only releases updates for supported versions.
Consider upgrading to QBD 2021 with the one time (outright) license to upgrade your version.
Where can I find a one-time cost license for desktop? I'm in Canada and only see subscription prices for desktop. Also is there a reason you recommended 2021 instead of the latest (2022)?
You can only purchase the one time (outright) license for QBD 2021 CA version from selected partners. Intuit doesn't offer the one time license for QBD 2022. Contact us in private and we can help to obtain the license. Click our username and you can send a private message to us.
