Therefore, transactions not populating on your QuickBooks occur due to delays or interruptions in the bank connection and the program. It can also be your bank is currently undergoing maintenance. Also, most banks update transactions every night around 10 PM PT, but some may take longer. If your downloads are stuck or you want the latest transactions, you can update them manually:
- Go to Transactions from the left menu.
- Select Bank transactions and then choose your bank.
- Click Update.
For the latest transactions, you can also manually download them from your bank's website and import them into QuickBooks using a CSV file.
It's also worth noting that when QBO downloads your bank transactions, we cannot control which transactions are retrieved. Though rarely, the system may download duplicate or personal transactions linked to your account. Duplicates can occur because the transactions downloaded from your bank are automatically recorded in QuickBooks Online.
To avoid adding unnecessary duplicates to your QuickBooks register, which can lead to incorrect balances, you can exclude certain transactions. Here’s how to do it:
- Go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu,
- Click on the Banking tab.
- Select the For Review tab.
- Check the box next to the transactions you wish to exclude.
- Click Exclude.
