Scotiabank connection has to be resecured everytime I access it.

Welcome back, lroes,

QuickBooks Online's bank feed connection offers an easy-entry interface for accounting for your banking transactions. I can see how needing to repeat steps for the connection can slow down that process, and I want to make sure you're able to have this taken care of.

Knowing what you mean when you say it needs to be resecured will help with determining the next steps. It'll also help us to know a bit more about the setup from your bank's side. For instance, if your bank uses multi-factor authentication, that could be why you're having to resecure it each time. QuickBooks Online relies on the ability to be able to automatically pull transactions from your banking account. When it needs to regularly go through authentication steps beyond a password, it can cause these sorts of hiccups.

If that's your situation, what you can consider is disabling the multi-factor authentication or manually uploading the transactions. Making sure banking data is secure is important, so I appreciate if turning off the multi-factor authentication isn't something you'd like to do. Here's more information about manually uploading your bank transactions: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online

If you decide to manually upload your transactions, disconnecting the bank feed will ensure that you no longer see prompts to resecure your account. To do this, follow these steps.

  1. Select the Transactions or Banking tab.
  2. Click the pencil icon on the banking tile.
  3. Choose Edit account info.
  4. Check the box Disconnect this account on save.
  5. Click Save and Close.

To go over these options with an agent or to discuss your situation in more detail, use one of the following options below to reach QuickBooks Online support.
