Need to change the email address you use to sign in to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Payments? Here's how to change your email address, or your client's sign-in info if you're an accountant.
Note: You don't need to change your email address to update a user's role or access. Follow these steps if you need to give primary admin access in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Payments.
Change your email address
There are two ways to change the email address you use to sign in.
From your Intuit account
You can sign in to your Intuit account directly. In the Email address section, select Edit and change your email.
From your QuickBooks Online
You can also change your email address from QuickBooks Online.
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
- Select Settings ⚙ and then select Intuit account or Your account.
- In the Email address section, select Edit and change your email.
Change your client's sign-in info
If you're an accountant, follow these steps to manage all your clients' info.
Get help changing your email address
If you can’t sign in and you don't have access to the email address you used, don’t worry. You can fill out an Email Change Request form and attach a copy of your photo ID. Make sure the ID is clear, legible, and of the account owner or administrator.
We’ll process your request within 3-4 hours during normal business hours (8 AM – 5 PM PT). When we’re done, you’ll get an email from email@example.com with the next steps.
