How do I get the time to show in the total project costs? I've already added the hourly rate and can see the time in the time activity, but not reflected in profit.

Hi there JENLOW,

It's awesome to hear that you're taking advantage of the Projects feature to help manage your jobs. The Projects tool is great for separating your income and expenses based on job, and helps you see where your business is profitable, and which jobs have greater loss. Tracking your time costs per project is also important so you know how these expenses are being allocated. I'd be happy to explain how to show your time costs in the project's total.

You'll first need to ensure that you're tracking your time costs appropriately in order for them to link with your project. This helpful article goes over the process in great detail, and explains how to do this with TSheets, Single Time Activities, or Timesheets: Track income, costs, and profitability by project. If you're trying to see your time costs as profit, make sure you make these costs billable to your client. That's also explained in the article above.

Once you've ensured the time expenses are being allocated properly to the project, you can review the projects overall profitability. To do that, click the Projects tab on the left navigation menu > select the project from the list > click Project Reports > select Project Profitability. Again, it's important to keep in mind that your time costs must be made billable and invoiced to your client in order for them to appear as profit.

That's all there is to it. Now you'll have a better idea of the profitability of your project. If you're still running into issues or need further support, our tech support team is standing by to help.

Have a great day.
