ProFile users encounter the following EFILE error 30104. The error reads: An invalid character(s) is in the free format area.
Resolution
This error is generated after carrying forward a return. This places a negative amount on line 104 of the T1 Jacket.
1. Double-click on box 104; the form OtherIncome displays.
2. Click on the negative amount entered in the QST rebate on prior year employment expenses (excludes CCA) line. The negative number disappears from the return.
