I know each business is unique in its needs, and I appreciate you taking the time to explain why you're looking to disable statutory holiday pay. I'll go over the options.
The answer to your question varies based on whether you're using Standard or Advanced Payroll. The two operate differently and have different options for stat holiday pay.
For instance, in Standard Payroll, stat holiday pay is hard-coded into the program and cannot be disabled. In this scenario, it's a use-as-needed situation. If you have an employee that needs stat pay calculated, fill in the field when running payroll. If the employee doesn't need it, leave the field blank. For Advanced Payroll, stat holiday is automatically calculated for you based on the holidays loaded into the Advanced Payroll Settings. To prevent stat holiday pay from calculating, going into those settings and removing the holidays from the list will do the trick.
- Select the Gear icon.
- Choose Advanced Payroll settings.
- Navigate to the Company holidays tab.
- Select the arrow in the Actions column and select Delete.
