As a cloud-based software, QuickBooks Online is optimized to work with several different screen sizes. The website will automatically control the left menu bar to display the maximum amount of content on the page. The removal of the scroll bar is by design, but I'll gladly assist you in gaining full control of that menu.
The left menu will scroll freely as long as it's in focus. It's designed to work seamlessly with your mouse-wheel or track pad, but you can easily use your arrow keys. Simply click somewhere around the + New button to select the menu bar. Feel free to submit feedback directly to our engineering team with any comments you have.
