As a cloud software, QuickBooks Online can relies heavily on browser and Internet functionality to operate and often these steps can clear up weird behaviours and get you back to work right away.
In light of that, the program can run into roadblocks when it comes to things like Internet files stored in the cache. These are collected from websites as you browse, and the best way to make sure they don't interfere is by clearing the cache. There's another article linked in the one I just gave that goes over system requirements for QuickBooks Online, which helps make sure you're using a supported and up-to-date browser for optimal use of the program. You can also try different browser types to see if it makes a difference in the information you see.
The next troubleshooting step I have for you is to make sure you're clicking Run Report after making changes on the Payroll Summary by Employee report. If you simply change the selections, the program doesn't change the information. I know this seems like a simple thing, but making sure the button is responding is important.
