I used wage point for payroll starting halfway through 2019. CRA received my remittances each month but has claimed I owe $3000 with their calculations. is this common?
I know how important it is to make sure you're up to date with your payroll liability payments and I'm glad to hear you're staying on top of them. Unexpected notices of money owed from the CRA when you're confident you've been paying the liabilities. I can help you with sorting this out.
I appreciate the details you've provided me. Knowing this, there are a few things to consider. For instance, since you started with QuickBooks Online's Advanced Payroll system midway through 2019, it's important to note that any remittances prior to that sign up would have needed to have been taken care of outside of the system. The program only takes care of remittances from the point of signup and on, not anything before then. If those weren't handled, that could be the missing funds that the CRA is asking you for.
If you're certain everything is up to date, I recommend getting in contact with the QuickBooks Online payroll support team. An agent will be able to verify your details and escalate the case if needed to find out what's going on. Here's how you can reach us.
