Payroll tax tables wont update

I started payroll for my client but when I opened company file with my QB Pro 2017 I noticed that payroll tax tables are not updated. Fed and prov exemption amounts are for 2016. Other company files (different clients) in the same QB pro 2017 are automatically updated correctly. I updated my quickbooks, made sure payroll is updated as well. when I click on the payroll tax table it shows 2018. Any ideas what could be wrong with the company file?

Payroll tax tables wont update

Hello l.dubrindyte,

You're on the right track in going through the necessary troubleshooting steps.

When the Payroll Tax Table won't update, it's possible that the automatic update feature in QuickBooks Desktop isn't enabled. You can check this link on how to turn on this feature so that QuickBooks downloads payroll updates automatically as soon as they are available: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

To get more information about the payroll tax table, please take a look at this article:

Payroll tax tables wont update

On 2019 I bought Quickbooks pro 2019 under my name Sandra Figueroa Quinones.  When I try to update my tax tables for 2020, you don't have my correct information.  You have the account under 66-0413881 that was my former job.  What I have to do?

Payroll tax tables wont update

I was having the same problem with 2017 after 3 years of using the software and when I called Quickbooks support they wanted to change me $800 to fix the issue. So I purchased 2020, started all over and it worked for about 3 weeks and now it is doing the same thing.  Am I really going to have to pay for someone to fix software that I JUST purchased?
