Hi there,

Each employee has different needs and unique set-up standards for their payroll profile. If your employee is exempt from CPP and you need to remove this from their deductions in QBO, I'd be happy to explain how to do so. You can get this done in just a few clicks.

If you're using Standard Payroll:

1. Click the Employees tab on the left navigation menu.

2. Click the employee you'd like to edit, then click the small pencil icon next to Pay

3. Click the small pencil icon next to Question 2 - What are the employees tax withholdings?

4. Select the drop-down menu for Tax exemptions at the bottom of the page, then check off the box for CPP

5. Click Done

If you're using Advanced Payroll:

1. Click the Employees tab on the left navigation menu.

2. Click Edit next to the employee you need to edit.

3. Select the Taxes tab on the top menu.

4. Scroll down to see the Tax settings, then toggle CPP withholdings so that it says NO - This employee is exempt from CPP/QPP

5. Click Save.

That's all there is to it. If you have any other questions or concerns, please reach out to our tech support team.

Cheers.
