Why is payroll not working

Hello comforttek2016,

 

Our goal at QuickBooks Online is to provide you with the tools you can rely on to manage your books, and that includes running payroll. As a cloud platform, the program can sometimes hit some snags in how it's working, and when that happens, we're here to help you get back on track. I can explain what might be going on with your account.

 

We've received reports of users with Standard Payroll getting a "Gathering payroll details" message with a spinning green wheel when running payroll. Our engineering team is actively working to get this resolved as we know payroll can come with tight deadlines.

 

In the meantime, I encourage you to get in touch with support so an agent can gather your details to add to our list of affected users. There may be some troubleshooting they can take you through to try to get you back on track more quickly. Even if what I've described isn't the issue you're running into, you can still contact support to let an agent know about what's going on so they can help you resolve the problem.
