Can you walk me through to make some changes to employee hours on the last payroll prepared but not submitted

We appreciate you reaching out to us in this forum, menezes. Yes, I can walk you through updating an employee's hours on the last prepared and unsubmitted payroll, which is done directly on the Run payroll page.

 

In QuickBooks Online Payroll, you can get back to the payroll you saved for later on the Run payroll page. It's also worth noting that you'll need to select the correct pay period to locate it and make necessary modifications.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Payroll in the left pane.
  2. Click Employees, then the Run payroll button.
  3. Choose the paycheque's pay schedule and the pay period in the designated dropdown.
  4. Select the worker, then update the hours from the appropriate pay type column.
  5. For salaried individuals, click Edit hours worked from the Actions dropdown and choose Edit employee hours for this pay period if you need to reduce their total hours.
  6. Review the details by clicking Preview Payroll, then Preview Payroll details.
  7. Once ready for submission, hit Submit Payroll.
