I’d be happy to assist you with paying out your employee's vacation balance.
In QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBO), you can easily manage any remaining vacation hours in the employee’s final paycheck as long as your payroll subscription is active.
Here's how:
- Click on Run Payroll.
- Check the box next to the employee's name you wish to select, then choose Preview Payroll.
- Click the pencil icon next to the Net Pay amount to make edits.
- Scroll down to locate the available Vacation Hours and review the remaining balance.
- Select Cancel to return to the main payroll screen.
If your QBO Payroll subscription is canceled, you can still pay the vacation balance outside of QBO Payroll, through a manual check or direct deposit. However, please note that in this case, you’ll need to calculate and remit the applicable taxes separately.
