Good day, Travis.woods.
If you're using the standard payroll, we're unable to automatically email paystubs to employees. You'll want to download it, then manually email it to your employees.
However, if you're using the Advanced payroll, this option is available. You'll have to set it up on your employee's profile.
If you have other concerns, we're just a comment away.
Thanks for getting in touch about this PageIT. I'll do what I can to help you sort it out.
In QuickBooks Desktop 2019, the program is still configured to send emailed pay stubs as password-protected PDF file attachments. Since your employees are seeing a different file type, I recommend troubleshooting your email provider. We've had reports of Outlook changing the file type coming from Desktop as it sends. If you are using Outlook, check out this post from Microsoft's community about this: Outlook 2016 keeps changing PDF attachments to winmail.dat
Once you've done all the troubleshooting on your email provider's end, feel free to give us a call. The number to dial is 1-877-772-9158. Agents are available 24/7 for Pro and Premier support and Enterprise agents can help from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET. I hope that helps! Enjoy the rest of your week.
Hello there, Martine Serco.
When sending your pay stubs, it will be a password-protected file. This helps your employee's sensitive information like their SSN and email address protected.
The password are composed of their first three characters of their last name followed by their birth date. The format will be MMDDYYYY.
You can check this reference for more information: Email pay stubs from QuickBooks Desktop.
I'm always around if you have other questions. Have a good one!
