How do I change the pay period so I can run payroll? It is showing a few weeks ago and I want to show it for this past week Sunday to Sunday.

You can change to the pay schedule to update the pay period before running your payroll, @doerksenstore.

To begin with, a pay period of Sunday to Sunday is not possible in QuickBooks Online because its weekly cycle ends on Saturday. This ensures the program calculates all hours, overtime, and deductions before the new week begins.

You can adjust your pay period before processing payroll by selecting the appropriate option within the paycheck setup. 

Here's how:

1. Click Edit payroll items.
2. Select Pay schedules, then select the pay schedule you want to edit.
3. Make your changes and select Save.

This update will apply to future payroll runs and ensure the correct pay period is used moving forward.

If payroll has already been processed, the pay schedule can't be edited retroactively. In that case, I recommend contacting our live support expert for further assistance with this matter.
