Let us share some information on correcting an employee's underpaid hours in QuickBooks Online (QBO), moranarom.
We can edit it and add the employee's hours to the paycheque. However, we can't edit a submitted paycheque if:
- It has a Pay date before January 1 of this year.
- The employee's pay rate changed since the paycheque was first submitted (for example, if you submit a paycheque for an hourly employee and then change the employee to Salary or Commission only, you won't be able to edit the paycheque).
- It's been paid to the employee through direct deposits, which means the paycheque has been transmitted to the employee's bank. In this case, you will have to void and recreate the paycheque.
- It's an adjustment cheque.
- Your payroll account hasn't been migrated to the new Payroll Core, Premium, or Elite product.
Here's how to edit it:
- Click Payroll and then Employees.
- Choose Paycheque list and filter by dates you want to edit.
- On the paycheque, tap the dropdown arrow under the Action column and click Edit. If the paycheque has been paid via direct deposit, it will have to be voided and recreated.
- Make the required changes and press Save.
If you are unable to edit a cheque due to the reasons listed above, please contact our Payroll Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and they'll be able to help you fill out a payroll edit request to add or change these pay totals. You can reach out to them with these steps:
- Go to the Help menu in QuickBooks, then choose the Search tab.
- At the bottom click on Contact us.
- Enter the keyword Account Management and Billing in the What can we help you with? box.
- On the next screen, scroll down to How would you like to connect with us section.
- Choose your contact options.
- When using the chat option, make sure to enable pop-up windows. The chat box will appear at the bottom right section of your monitor, and an agent will be with you shortly after.
