Hey gymkydsgymnastic,

It's great that you're all set to submit your ROEs. The earlier you're able to send them out, the easier it'll be for your employees to receive their benefits in a timely manner. The payroll solutions available in QuickBooks Online are designed to eliminate the stress of creating these forms and save you time so you can focus on running your business. Depending on your specific payroll subscription, there are a few options available to you. I'll be happy to help with this.

If you're producing ROE's for employees off work due to COVID-19, please check out this page to ensure these are coded correctly: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) – Employment and Social Development Canada

Advanced Payroll Powered by WagePoint uses powerful automation to make the process incredibly simple and submit these electronically. Check out this article to make sure your account is set up: Submit a Record of Employment (ROE) form

ROE forms produced by QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll are generated as drafts using the data currently in the system when an employee is made inactive. These make it easy to submit your ROEs online through your Service Canada account. It's just a few easy steps to obtain a review copy:

  1. Select Employees from the left.
  2. Adjust the drop down menu to show All Employees.
  3. Select the desired employee from the list.
  4. Select the edit pencil next to Employment.
  5. From the Status drop-down menu, change the employee's status from Active to Terminated.
  6. Select Reason for Status Change and enter the appropriate termination date.
  7. Select Done.
  8. A pop-up will appear asking if you'd like to create the employee's Record of Employment. Select Yes.

Hope this helps! I'm here if you'd like any additional assistance.
