Hi there,
I processed semi-monthly payroll a few jobs ago but just used regular timesheets since employees paid were salaried. I take these are hourly employees you're talking about and need to somehow back up pay with hours recorded? To align with QBO software, one solution is to create a custom report that filters hours recorded by employee by semi-monthly dates. Am I on the right track or that does not address what you're looking to do?
Hi there allan-m4h-ca,
It's vital that all your timesheets be entered correctly so that the information can be used for both payroll and billing purposes. QuickBooks Online allows you to create time activities in order to have the hours be ready for when you run your payroll. I can provide some information about timesheets.
Within QuickBooks Online, Time activities can either be entered as a Single time activity or a Weekly timesheet. There isn't the option to enter timesheets for custom periods of time. I can see how having timesheets available for different blocks of time would allow you more flexibility in entering those hours. I recommend you leave feedback in the system by clicking on the Gear Icon, then Feedback. The comments made in that section are taken into consideration by our developers when designing new features for QuickBooks Online. I'll pass along your feedback on my end as well.
