Hi there, @alanf1,
I'm here to help set up your electronic payroll service for your tax remittance.
Wagepoint and QuickBooks Online have teamed up to bring new small business owners the ultimate payroll experience. With QuickBooks Online Advance Payroll, we'll help you file and remit your taxes automatically every time they're due.
First, sign up for the service:
Second, here's how to set up the payroll:
For additional guidance on how to complete your setup accurately, check this out: QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll - Getting started. This article provides required documents and detailed steps to help you enter the data we need to pay taxes and file returns.
Third, set up Direct Deposit so you can pay taxes online. Lastly, navigate the Pay & tax settings tab through the Employees tab to pay your remittance.
However, if you're subscribed to the standard payroll, we'll also help you prepare PD7A and TPZ-1015 remittance forms to print and file. Feel free to read through this link: Payroll tutorial: How to turn on and set up payroll for more details on how to turn on the payroll feature and set up other tax details.
Keep me posted if there's anything else you need concerning payroll and I'd be glad to help you out.
I noticed this morning that my Payroll taxes were automatically withdrawn from the business account last night, this is great because i was going to manually do it today not knowing that QB was going to automatically do it for me. I was not aware that QB would automatically do this, would i have had to set this up somewhere when i initially started with the program? (I am new to QB) If it was, is it possible for me to change the bank account that the funds are withdrawn from?
Hi jpiperni-kmeinco,
I'm glad to hear you're taking advantage of the robust automation system behind Advanced Payroll powered by wagepoint. Online Payroll gives you the flexibility to update or edit your payroll settings. I'll be happy to show you where to find those in your account.
To view or edit payroll tax payment settings, follow these steps.
Below the Pay and tax overview tab is the Bank account tab. This is where you add or edit the bank account you use to pay direct deposit, payroll taxes, & payroll processing fees. Keep in mind that when editing the bank account, you still have to go through the verification process of about 7 business days. To make sure you complete this section properly, check out the Add banking information section in this article: QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll - Getting started

Hi Patricia, thanks for your reply. So i think the reason i am so confused is because I am not running Advanced Payroll at this moment (waiting for my standard trial to end so i can switch to Advanced) I knew it was a option to set up automatic payroll liability payments with Advanced, so i am assuming that since the payment was made automatically that Standard also offers this as well? I do not have automatic payment set up with CRA so It would have to be through QB?
Hi again jpiperni-kmeinco,
Thanks for confirming which Online Payroll version you're using. It sounded to me that you had Advanced Payroll since Standard Payroll doesn't offer the feature to pay your remittances on your behalf. You still get awesome reports from Standard Payroll, but these assist you to do your payroll tax payments outside of QBO. The withdrawal amount from Standard payroll is always your payroll processing fees, and you shouldn't be seeing any withdrawal from Online Payroll if you're still on a trial period. I'd suggest reaching out to our payroll support team for closer assistance. Having a view at your account will help us determine the origin of the fee and also make sure everything is set up properly to meet your business needs. Here's how to get in touch.

Hope this helps! Have a nice day.
Hi,
Does QB provide this service in Canada. I have subscribed to Payroll but could not find the option to auto pay the deductions.
Hello harminder. Glad to have you chime in on this thread. This feature isn't available in QuickBooks Online yet. I encourage you to send feedback to our engineers. You can do this by clicking the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. New product features and enhancements are largely based on the feedback we get from users like you.
