i deleted an employee and now i cant add them back!

This Social Insurance number is already in use by another employee.

You can reactivate the deleted employee profile instead of re-adding them, as their previous record (including the Social Insurance Number) still exists, @Steph. Let me give you a quick insight into why this is the case.

 

When you terminate or delete an employee, their status is marked as Inactive. If your payroll is configured to show only active employees, you won't be able to access their records. Let's go through the steps to view your deleted employee's record and reactivate their status:

 

  1. Navigate to Payroll.
  2. Click on the Active Employees dropdown and select All Employees. This allows you to see all employee records, including inactive ones.
  3. Select the employee whose status you wish to reactivate.
  4. Click the Actions dropdown and choose Make active.

 

Once activated, you won't need to worry about the employee's SIN. You can simply update their address, phone number, and other details as needed.
