Why isn't everyone able to turn on the late fees option in QBO

Hi Jewels71,

Thanks for reaching out to us here!  QuickBooks Online Canada currently doesn't apply late fees automatically.  If you would like to see this available in future updates, please don't hesitate to submit a suggestion to our Development Team.  In the interim, you can manually add late fees to your invoices, as you see necessary.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out again.  We would be glad to help!

Why isn't everyone able to turn on the late fees option in QBO

I'm happy to let you know that QuickBooks Online Canada now supports automatic late fee calculations for overdue invoices, Park.

Here's how you do it:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then select Account and settings.
  2. Select Sales.
  3. In the Late fees section, select Edit ✎.
  4. Turn on the Default charge applied to overdue invoices switch.
  5. Enter the Amount and/or Percent (%) of the fee.
  6. Select the Frequency dropdown, then choose how often you charge customers.
  7. Select Save.

For detailed instructions on activating automatic late fees, you can refer to this article: Turn on automatic late fees.

We're gradually rolling out this feature to ensure a seamless experience for everyone. If you don't see it in your QuickBooks Online account just yet, please bear with us—it'll be there before you know it!
