Express Pack tab in Sales Order Fulfillment

by Intuit Updated 1 year ago

The Express Pack feature allows you to complete the pick and pack steps for an order as a single action instead of separate processes. Using the Sales Order Fulfillment Dashboard for pick, pack, and ship status increases speed and accuracy in order fulfillment.

Before you use Express Pack
  • Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet must be enabled in the Advanced Inventory Settings. For details, see Create a sales order.
  • For paired devices, you need to have connected a supported  barcode scanner or Android device. To know more, see Set up and use Warehouse Manager App to link your device to the company file.
  • If you are not using a mobile scanner, you need to update the pick information manually.

Access the Dashboard

The Dashboard is the same as the QuickBooks Enterprise 18.0 Orders worksheet. Invoices orders and non-inventory orders do not display on the Dashboard.

  1. From the Customers menu, go to Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet.
  2. Select Dashboard.

Create the Express Pack list

  1. From the Customers menu, go to Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet.
  2. On the Dashboard, choose the sales orders you want to pick and pack as one process, then select Send for Exp pick-pack in the Action drop-down.
  3. On the Packer column, select the packer from your list (if desired).
  4. Select Send to device to send the pick-pack list to the warehouse's scanner or phone.

Warehouse activity

  1. On your worker's mobile device, scan the Express pick-pack list that needs to be fulfilled (picked and packed).
  2. Select Create Package after following the associated prompts.
  3. Press Done to finalize the entry, then tap Finish to send the completed list back to QuickBooks.

Update Sales Order Fulfillment worksheet

  1. On the Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet, switch to the Express pick-pack tab to check the list status.
Note: An orange flag indicates the order has been packed on the Express pick-pack tab list.
  2. Select the radio button next to the flagged order, select Update Sales Order, then OK to change the status to Packed or Partially Packed.
Note: Sales orders do not automatically update to Packed or Partially Packed status.
  3. Switch to the Dashboard tab to see the status of the order.

This activity is also available from the Dashboard page under Batch Actions.

Track the status

Once you have created the pick-pack lists, you can track real-time status from the warehouse on the Express Pick-Pack tab. As soon as there is an update from the warehouse via the mobile scanner, you will see an orange arrow notification indicating a picklist update.

Choose the sales order(s) and select Update sales order. This will update the sales order status to the latest one. If there are any exceptions such as an incorrect number of items packed, the system will prompt you with a message.

Actions available from the table on this page include:

  • View packing list
  • Print packing slip (only shows if packing list status is updated). The packing slip will show the latest quantity packed.
