Upgrade or downgrade your QuickBooks Payroll plan

We want to help you find the best payroll tools for your business. As your business changes, your payroll needs may change as well. With QuickBooks Payroll you can change your plan to one that’s right for you. 

Here’s how to upgrade or downgrade your QuickBooks Payroll plan.



QuickBooks Online Payroll

Step 1: Choose a new plan

Check out the available plans to see which payroll service is right for you.

Step 2: Upgrade or downgrade your plan

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary or company admin.
  2. Select Settings ⚙ and then Account and settings.
  3. Select the Billing & Subscription tab.
  4. Make sure your payment info is up-to-date.
  5. In the QuickBooks Online Payroll section, select Upgrade your plan or Downgrade your plan

If you don’t see this option, contact us for help with upgrading or downgrading. 

  1. Review the available plans and then select Choose plan.
  2. Follow the on-screen steps to upgrade your plan.
