Error 1310: Error writing to file...

Perform these troubleshooting steps if you're installing a new version or updating QuickBooks Desktop and you get:
- Error writing to file C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 20xx\BusinessObjectProvider.dll
- Error "1310: Error writing to file: C:Config.Msi..."
Solution 1: Download and install the QuickBooks Tools Hub
The QuickBooks Tools Hub helps fix common errors. QuickBooks needs to be closed to use the tool hub.

Solution 2: Toggle the User Account Control settings
Solution 3: Re-register the Microsoft Windows installer
- Select the Windows Start menu.
- Type msiexec /unreg in the search field and press Enter.
- Select the Windows Start menu.
- Type msiexec /regserver in the search field and press Enter.
- Try installing QuickBooks
Solution 4: Use the Command Prompt to manually assign full administrator access to the installer
Important:

- Go to Windows Start menu, look for All Programs then choose Accessories.
- Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
- In the Command Prompt window, type in icacls "C:\Config.Msi" /T /C /grant administrators:F.
Note: Change Config.Msi to the folder referenced on the error you received. - Press Enter and exit the command prompt.
- Install QuickBooks.
