Get the total number of customers in QuickBooks Online

You can view the total number of customers in QuickBooks Online through the Customer list or by generating a report. This allows you to track your business growth and manage your customer data efficiently.

Some of your reports will look different depending on whether they're in the classic view or new enhanced experience. Learn more about the new enhanced experience.


View your total number of customers

Use the Customer list to filter data and see your total customer count.

  1. Select the Gear âš™ icon above the Action column to filter your customer data.
  2. Select all the customer data you want to view.
  3. Select Include inactive or Include projects if you want to include them in your total.
  4. Select your preferred page size.
  5. Scroll down to view the total number of customers.


Export your customer contact list to Excel

You can export a report to Excel to create a mailing list or keep all customer data in one place.

  1. From the Find report by name dropdown, search for and select the Customer Contact List report.
  2. Customize your report if needed.
  3. Select the Export/Print dropdown.
  4. Select Export to Excel.
  5. Follow the steps to save the file.

Note: You may also select Export as CSV or Print/Save as PDF based on your preferences.

Once you have exported the file to Excel, you can sort the data based on the columns you see in the report.



Email the report

  1. Select the More actions dropdown.
  2. Select Email report.
  3. Enter all the info needed, then select Send email.
