Show only active rows and columns on reports in QuickBooks Online

by Intuit•1• Updated 3 months ago

To keep things less cluttered when you're looking at your reports, you can hide rows and columns with no activity or a total amount of zero. This ability is only available for some reports.

Note: This does not apply to payroll reports.

To show only active rows and columns:

  • In case of Modern view:
    1. In a report, select Image Alt Text General options.
    2. If available for your report, under Show non-zero or active Image Alt Text, select Active or Non-zero under Show rows or columns, as per your requirement.
    3. Under Number format Image Alt Text, select Don't show zero amounts.
Note: The report refreshes when a different option is selected. You can also select the refresh report icon Refresh icon..
  • In case of Classic view:
    1. If available for your report, select the Show non-zero or active only â–Ľ dropdown.
    2. Under Show rows or columns, select Active or Non-zero as per your requirement.
    3. Select Customize, then select â–Ľ General to expand it.
    4. Under Number format, select Except zero amount.
    5. Select Run report.

Notes:

  • Active: Hides empty rows or columns.
  • All: Shows all rows or columns.
  • Non-zero: Hides rows or columns with a total of zero.
