Payroll calculations differ from the CRA payroll deductions calculator
by Intuit• Updated 1 year ago
The payroll calculations in QuickBooks Desktop may be different from the printed tables supplied by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or the CRA Payroll Deductions Online Calculator.
QuickBooks Desktop uses a more accurate method to calculate taxes, which can create differences between the calculations from the CRA Payroll Deductions Online Calculator.
- QuickBooks Desktop calculates federal, provincial, and territorial taxes based on a formula provided by the CRA.
- The CRA Payroll Deductions Online Calculator amounts are based on tables, which are not as precise as those which QuickBooks Desktop calculates.
