To fix the error message Error 20010: Your software is invalid with the tax return open in ProFile, perform the following steps:
- Go to File > Properties.
- Change the Client Status to anything apart from what it currently is.
- Change the EFILE Status/AT1 Status/CO-17 Status to Eligible.
- Uncheck CRA Errors/RQ Errors/AT1 Errors depending on what return you are electronically filing/EFILEing.
- Save the return.
- Close the return.
- Open the return again using File > Open instead of File > Reopen.
