An error displays when using carry forward with TaxPrep files

Users may experience an error when using carry forward with TaxPrep files. The error message reads ProFile filed to create the file. Either you have not selected any forms to print, or the PDF Printer was not properly installed.

This error displays in the T1, T2, and FX 2017 modules using carry forward from a 2016 file, in one of two scenarios:

  • Carrying forward a TaxPrep file in French, in a copy of ProFile installed on an English operating system
  • Carrying forward a TaxPrep file in English, in a copy of ProFile installed on a French operating system

Resolution

Customers should change the ProFile language setting to match the language of the operating system.
