Directory not found error when trying to save a return


This error can occur if the directory was changed. If there was a change on a network, or if you have file located on an external hard drive (not recommended) and it is not connected to the computer. Then profile would not be able to locate the directory specified in the Options Environment settings.

To check the directory:

  1. Go to Options > Options Environment and select the File tab
  2. Check the Directory for each module and insure it is the correct location
  3. The directory can be changed by selecting the module, and clicking on the three dots (?)
  4. Browse to the correct location
  5. If applicable, resave the options package
