Turn off automatic check for updates

  1. In ProFile, navigate to the Options menu, select Environment, and select the System tab.
  2. Under Automatic Check for Updates, uncheck Enable check for updates.
  3. Select OK.

Turn off automatic check for updates for users on a network

If ProFile has been installed as a workstation install, only the server can be updated. Ensure that all users have exited ProFile, update the server, and the next time the users launch ProFile, the software will be current.

In environments where ProFile is installed locally on every computer, the network administrator can set up a password protected Options Package:

  1. In ProFile, navigate to the Options menu, select Environment, and select the System tab.
  2. Under Automatic Check for Updates, uncheck Enable check for updates.
  3. Select OK.
  4. Navigate to the Options menu and select Options Administration.
  5. Create a new Options Package, or save an existing one.
  6. To password protect the Options Package, navigate to the Options menu and select Options password.
