Limitations on Terminal Server Functionality
When installing Windows applications on a terminal server, the following features are not designed to work in a terminal server environment:
- online accounting setting of ProFile
- access to Link in ProFile
- cloud bridge file upload in ProFile
- flexible licensing
Terminal Server Setup
1. Ensure all users have left the terminal server.
2. Restart the server, if possible.
3. Log in to the server as administrator.
4. Download the file gpsetup.exe from the Download ProFile page.
5. Search for the Command Prompt (CMD), right-click and run as administrator.
6. In the Command Prompt, enter Install mode using the change user /install command.
7. Right-click on the file gpsetup.exe and run as administrator.
8. Follow the dialogue boxes as prompted; ProFile installs on the computer.
9. Return to the Command Prompt.
10. Change the server to execute’ using the change user /execute command.
Terminal Update
1. Ensure all users have left the terminal server.
2. Restart the server, if possible.
3. Log in to the server as administrator.
4. Search for the Command Prompt (CMD), right-click and run as administrator.
5. In the Command Prompt, enter Install mode using the change user /install command.
6. Open ProFile.
7. Select the Check for updates option from the Online drop-down menu in the top toolbar.
8. Follow the dialogue boxes as prompted; ProFile updates on the computer.
9. Return to the Command Prompt.
10. Change the server to execute using the change user /execute command.
Terminal Repair
1. Ensure all users have left the terminal server.
2. Restart the server, if possible.
3. Log in to the server as administrator.
4. Download the file gpsetup.exe from the Download ProFile page.
5. Search for the Command Prompt (CMD), right-click and run as administrator.
6. In the Command Prompt, enter Install mode using the change user /install command.
7. Right-click on the file gpsetup.exe and run as administrator.
8. Follow the dialogue boxes as prompted; ProFile installs on the computer.
9. Return to the Command Prompt.
10. Change the server to execute using the change user /execute command.
Clean uninstall on a Citrix-based Terminal Server
1. Ensure all users have left the terminal server.
2. Restart the server, if possible.
3. Log in to the server as administrator.
4. Download the file gpsetup.exe from the Download ProFile page.
5. Search for the Command Prompt (CMD), right-click and run as administrator.
6. In the Command Prompt, enter Install mode using the change user /install command.
7. Perform the clean uninstall as per normal.
8. Reboot the server.
9. Search for the Command Prompt (CMD), right-click and run as administrator.
10. In the Command Prompt, enter Install mode using the change user /install command.
11. Right-click on the file gpsetup.exe and run as administrator.
12. Follow the installation dialogue boxes as prompted.
13. Change the server to execute using the change user /execute command.
