XML file is generating for T3 return due to short date format

If the short date format used by a preparer when generating the XML file for a T3 return does not follow the Windows default setting, the XML file can fail to generate.

The issue does not occur when generating other XML files (e.g. for T3 slips or FX files).

Resolution

Preparers should set the short date format to the Windows default.

1.  Go to the Windows Start menu.
2. Enter change the date and time format in the search bar. Results display at the top of the menu.
3. Select Change the date and time format from the search results. The Change the date and time format window displays.
4. Set the short date value in the Short date field to M/dd/yy.

This will allow the XML file for the T3 return to generate.
