Auto-Fill my Return in Pro Tax for T1 and T2

Auto-Fill my Return (AFR) reduces return preparation times to as little as 5 minutes by populating current year data directly from the CRA.



Auto-Fill my Return for T1

  1. Open QuickBooks Online Accountant.
  2. Select Pro Tax.
  3. Select T1 - Personal.
  4. Find the return you're importing data for and select the View return option under ACTION.
  5. Select the CRA Auto fill my return option under the Return actions drop-down menu; the carry forward wizard displays.
  6. Click the Visit CRAs website button; the CRA Login window displays.
  7. Login to the CRA portal with your User ID and Password.
  8. Click the Login button; the request conformation window displays.
  9. Click the Next button; the request begins processing. A Successfully connected message displays; you are prompted to return to your tax product to continue.
  10. Navigate back to the Pro Tax tab in the browser. The Select client data to download wizard displays, asking what slips and carry forward details to import.
  11. Select carry forward details to import (for example, Account balances and Details).
  12. Click the Continue button; the summary of your client’s data from CRA displays.
  13. Click the Import selected button; the data imports. The confirmation of imported client data displays.
  14. Click the Continue button to work on the populated T1 return in Pro Tax.


Auto-Fill my Return for T2

  1. Open QuickBooks Online Accountant.
  2. Select Pro Tax.
  3. Select T2 - Corporate.
  4. Find the return you're importing data for and select the View return option under ACTION.
  5. Select the CRA Auto fill my return option under the Return actions drop-down menu; the carry forward wizard displays.
  6. Click the Visit CRAs website button; the CRA Login window displays.
  7. Login to the CRA portal with your User ID and Password.
  8. Click the Login button; the request conformation window displays.
  9. Click the Next button; the request begins processing. A Successfully connected message displays; you are prompted to return to your tax product to continue.
  10. Navigate back to the Pro Tax tab in the browser.
  11. The Select client data to download wizard displays, asking what slips and carry forward details to import.
  12. Select slips and carry forward details to import (for example, Account balances and Details).
  13. Click the Continue button; the summary of your client’s data from CRA displays.
  14. Click the Import selected button; the data imports. The confirmation of imported client data displays.
  15. Click the Continue button to work on the populated T2 return in Pro Tax.
