Run a query to find returns in which T1135 has not been EFILED

This article details the process for running a query on the database to find returns in which T1135 has not been EFILED.

Selecting the Database in ProFile

ProFile users must select the database option they prefer ( Client Explorer or Classic Database) and add two conditions in order to query returns in which T1135 has not been EFILED.

Using Client Explorer

Open ProFile.
Select the "Database..." option from the "Options" menu in the top toolbar menu:

Select the "Use Client Explorer" radio button:

Click the "OK" button. The option window closes.
Select the "Client Explorer" option form the "GoTo" menu in the top toolbar menu. A list of returns displays:

Click the "Index" button:

The "Index" window displays:

Click the "Browse" button; select the folder where T1 returns are stored:

Click the "OK" button. The selection window closes.
Click the "OK" button. The window closes.
Click the "Filter" button:

The "Filter" pane displays at the bottom of Client Explorer window:

Select the module (e.g., T1) and applicable tax year (e.g., 2016) to filter for.
Click the "Apply Filters" button; the filtered list of returns displays.
Click the "Advanced" button on the "Filter" pane:

Click the "New" button; the "Add" pane displays:

Click the "Add" button.
The "Add Condition" window displays:

Adding First Condition
Enter the value "T1Info.B[17]" in the "Field Name" field.
Select the value "is equal to" in the "Condition" field.
Select the values "Truth" and "True", respectively, in the "Compare To" fields:

Click the "Add" button.
The condition is added to the advanced filters list:
Adding Second Condition
Click the "Add" button.
The "Add Condition" window displays:

Enter the value "T1Info.S[121]" in the "Field Name" field.
Select the value "is less than" in the "Condition" field.
Select the values "String" and "0", respectively, in the "Compare To" fields.
Click the "Add" button.
The second condition is added to the advanced filters list:
 
Click the "OK" button.
The user is prompted to save the query with a new name:
Click the "Yes" button; the naming window displays:
Enter a name for the query (e.g., "New Query").
Click the "OK" button. The query is saved with the new name.
Click the "Apply Filters" button.

Using Classic Database

Open ProFile.

Select the "Database..." option from the "Options" menu in the top toolbar menu:

Select the "Use Classic Database" radio button:

Click the "OK" button. The options window closes.

Select the "Open" option from the "Database" menu in the top toolbar menu:

The "Open" window displays:

Click the "Index" button:

Select the folder where T1 returns are stored:

Click the "OK" button; the window closes.

The file location is displayed in the "File Directory" field:

Click the "OK" button.

Use the navigation arrows to locate the "Query" tab:

Select the "Query" tab:

The "Query" pane displays:

Right-click in the "Query" pane; select the "Add" option:

The "Add Condition" window displays.

Adding First Condition

Enter the value "T1Info.B[17]" in the "Field Name" field.
Select the value "is equal to" in the "Condition" field.
Select the values "Truth" and "True", respectively, in the "Compare To" fields:

Click the "Add" button.
The condition is added to the advanced filters list:
Adding Second Condition
Right-click in "Query" pane again; select the "Add" option:
The "Add Condition" window displays:

Enter the value "T1Info.S[121]" in the "Field Name" field.
Select the value "is less than" in the "Condition" field.
Select the values "String" and "0", respectively, in the "Compare To" fields.
Click the "Add" button.
The second condition is added to the advanced filters list:
 
Click the "OK" button.
Click the "Run Query" button; the query runs.
