The ability to link the same bank and credit card accounts in two different QuickBooks companies actually depends on your financial institution. I suggest giving them a call to know if they allow multiple connections to your account.
If you want, you can link your accounts without asking your bank. Then, if you see an error stating they're already connected or will be disconnected from the first company file, it means the account cannot be linked to both QuickBooks companies at the same time. This also means you'll have to use the manual import option.
