Can you change my auto payment on credit card to a new number...error 81624 shows?

Hey there handswithheart61,

I'm glad you've noticed the billing error you're getting in your account. The sooner we come across these things, the more quickly we can resolve them. I have a few troubleshooting ideas for you so you can take care of this and make sure you retain access to your account.

Errors like that are often generated when there are details missing from your account setup or there's an issue with the card. The first thing to check in this situation is that you've correctly and completely entered your company information in the Account and Settings section. The company address is a particularly important part of this process and works best when it matches the billing address. Here's how you can verify those details.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Go to Account and Settings.
  3. Review the information on the Company tab.
  4. Click the sections to make any changes necessary.
  5. Save each section when complete.

If you've made corrections there, try the card again. If you're still having trouble, the next best step is to check in with the card provider to make sure the charges aren't being blocked for some reason.

Even taking steps such as clearing the browser's cache can help in this situation as the process removes any temporary data that may be interfering with the program's overall functionality. Learn more about that here: How do I clear my cache and temporary Internet files?

Finally, if you'd like to simply try another card, that's something you can update yourself. QuickBooks Online makes it easy and keeps you in control of your billing method by allowing you to change it directly in the Billing and Subscription tab in your Account and Settings. Take a look at this article to see how it's done: Update the payment method or information for your subscription

If you're still having trouble after trying each of those things, feel free to get in touch with QuickBooks Online's support teams. An agent will be able to securely take a closer look at your account to determine what might be happening.
