How do I import and upload historical square sales - per day, split gross sales, taxes, tips, refunds, etc

I'm cleaning books from 2021. I would like to import the sales from square (csv) including gross sales, taxes, tips, transaction fees etc the idea is to match daily bank deposits. I'm not clear how to do this.

Thank you for reaching out, Nerina.

Please note that you can import up to 2 years of historical transactions. Once you have determined the starting date, select Import, and your transactions will then begin to be imported into your QuickBooks account.

Since your transactions date back to 2021, you will need to import them manually. Please follow the steps outlined in the "Upload a list" section of the Manually upload transactions in QuickBooks guide. It's essential to note that QuickBooks requires transactions to be in a specific format for manual imports, specifically the CSV file format.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the Link account dropdown and select Upload from file, or click Upload transactions.
  2. From the Select account dropdown, choose the account to import your transactions into.
  3. Find and upload the account statement file from your computer, and align the file’s columns (e.g., date, description, amount) to the correct fields in QuickBooks, and click Continue.
  4. Choose the specific transactions to import, then click Continue.
  5. Select Yes to confirm, then click Done to complete the process.

After uploading transactions to QuickBooks, you can manually categorize and split them. For tax purposes, categorize transactions as sales receipts by specifying the customer and product, check the tax box, and ensure the total amount is correct. You can also record transactions as sales receipts in Square and match them seamlessly in QuickBooks after uploading.
