Hi there useronyinye,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I'm glad you're here and that you've been able to enter all of your transactions into QuickBooks Online. Setting up the tax centre is an important step that allows for the most accurate bookkeeping. Let me go over how to set up sales tax, as well as how you can add the correct sales tax codes to your existing transactions.

If you haven't set up sales tax just yet, here's how:

  1. From the left menu, select Taxes.
  2. Follow the prompts provided by QuickBooks to get started. You'll need to answer a few questions about your company and how you manage your sales tax. If you're not quite sure, please refer to the CRA.

Now you'll be able to select a sales tax code as you create transactions. If you serve customers from different provinces, here's How to set up a new sales tax code in addition to the one you've already set up.

To select a tax code, simply use the dropdown menu located on each line of a transaction to choose the appropriate code. To add these codes to existing transactions you'll need to go through them one by one. I know an option to bulk edit those transactions would come in handy, so I encourage you to submit feedback to our product development team. That team is responsible for making improvements and adding new features to our products and they love hearing from users like you on what features would be most beneficial for your company.

I'm here if you have any additional questions. Have a great day!
