In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the reconcile feature allows you to easily match your transactions with your bank statement. You'll find this option under the Gear icon in the upper-right corner of your QBO account.
Before you begin reconciliation, here’s what you need to prepare:
- Have your monthly bank or credit card statement ready. If you're reconciling multiple months, start with the oldest statement first.
- If your accounts are connected to online banking, ensure all downloaded transactions have been matched and categorized.
Once you're ready, follow these steps to reconcile your account:
- Go to the Gear icon in the upper-right-hand.
- Choose Reconcile.
- Select the account you want to reconcile from the Account drop-down menu.
- Ensure that the account you select matches the account you're reconciling on your bank or credit card statement.
