If I import a list in which the item already exists in QBO, and the [quantity as-of date] is earlier than a sale following this date, will the sale still be subtracted?

I did a test using just one item and it did not change the item whose quantity had changed since the date of the spreadsheet.  Not sure why I didn't think of doing this test before I posted.  Thanks anyway.

Hi there,

Welcome to the Community. It's key to make sure the data you're importing is accurate and that it doesn't skew your numbers. I'd be happy to share more info.

If you're importing products/services from Excel, I encourage you to check out this helpful article for more info. When importing an already existing product, you'd have to manually record the sale in QBO. Let me know if you need help with that.

I don't think you understood the question.  Let me try putting it another way;

1.  Lets say I take inventory on Jan  1.  Inventory count=1 on Product A. Inventory is recorded in spreadsheet.

2.  I make a sale of product A on Jan 2, reducing the actual inventory count to 0

3.  Finally, I import the spreadsheet on Jan. 3, which contains product A qu=1.   Question:  Will the product A quantity be 1 or 0 in Quickbooks?

Thanks for clarifying. The inventory count wouldn't be affected because the product already exists in QuickBooks. I'm glad you tested this on your end. In case you have further questions, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help.
