Hello unmudl2019,

QuickBooks Online's bank feed is a great tool for easily adding, matching, and categorizing transactions in your account, including accountant accounts. With it, you have the freedom to choose whether you want to add, match, or exclude a transaction from QuickBooks Online with just a click or two. It sounds like so far you've been using the feed to add transactions that weren't already in QuickBooks, which is great! I'll go over the other two ways you can use the bank feed to make sure you're getting the most out of the feature.

Apart from adding transactions, the program has the option to match or exclude transactions in the bank feed. The match option allows you to match what's in the bank feed to what's already in QuickBooks Online, which can be useful for reconciling. Since reconciling is comparing the books to your bank statement anyway, the matching process does what I like to call a soft reconcile so that by the time you do get to reconciling the account, the transaction will already be checked off.

The exclude option is useful for if you don't want to match, can't quite get the program to match a transaction, or quite simply don't need the transaction in your books.

I encourage you to read through and review this article about all of the functions in the bank feed so that you can become well acquainted with the ways you can use it to manage your books: Match and categorize bank transactions in QuickBooks Online
