Hello, we are using quickbooks online for our church and I'm trying to prepare for issuing our annual tax receipts. I can't seem to find a template that will work for this and thinking surely somebody has created something that will work for this. Thanks for any advice on making this simple!

Hello again usercompasstreasurer,
It's great to see that you're still hard at work in QuickBooks Online and looking ahead to get a jump on tax preparation. It's a good practice so that you're not scrambling later once you actually need to handle your taxes. I'll help you out with this question of tax receipts for the church.
QuickBooks Online has a number of functions for accounting for business income and expenses, and includes the related forms like invoices, sales receipts, bills, and cheques, to name a few. When it comes to entities like churches and other non-profit organizations, I know there are other options still that you might be looking for, such as tax receipts to give to donors. QuickBooks Online doesn't currently have a built-in feature for tax receipts.
As you've noted, some others may have come up with a way to do this in the program, so keep an eye out for other input from members of the QuickBooks Community. For instance, something like a sales receipt might work, although the wording isn't exact to what you're looking for. While you can change the name of the form in the custom form styles section, that change will apply on all sales receipts. Learn more about customizing forms here: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online
If the QuickBooks Online's built-in features don't do the trick, another recommendation I have is checking to see if there are any third-party apps that might be able to fill in this gap. To see if there are, check out the Apps tab in the left menu and use various keywords to search the available options. If you find something that might work, that's awesome! If you're not sure, you can use the contact details in the App Information section when you click an app to review to learn more from the app's designated support team.
If you mean to say you're not sure how to pull the information from your books to get details together for writing a tax receipt, I encourage you to reach out to an accountant. They'll be your best resource for making sure you have all the appropriate details for the church's receipts. You can even use the My Accountant tab to work with an accountant directly in QuickBooks. The tab has an email invite field to invite an accountant on as a user so they can work in your books and see your information. There's also the Find a pro to help button if you don't have an accountant working with the church yet.
Otherwise, I encourage you to submit feedback about this to our product development team. That team loves hearing from QuickBooks users the various ways they could develop the program to enhance what it has to offer. Here's how you can leave feedback: How do I submit feedback?
Take care and enjoy the rest of your day!

This was excellent feedback, thanks so much for your reply! I found a perfect solution under the apps section on the left. Seems like it will do what we need and quite simply at first glance.
Thanks for this update! I'm excited to hear that you've found an app that looks like it'll do the trick for you. When it's easy to use, that's a great bonus as well.
