Migration from Desktop to Online

I have a QB online account which I have been paying for a couple of months now. I have not uploaded any data in that account since I have purchased that one.

Now, when I try to migrate data from desktop to online account, system asks for email id and password and a new company with trial license is created instead of providing any option to select the existing one.

How can I migrate desktop data to the paid online account I have?

Migration from Desktop to Online

Hi there,

Congrats on making the move to the cloud! Don't worry, I'll give you a hand with migrating your data over to QuickBooks Online.

As you know, there's no need to start over again with entering data. You'll just need to convert your desktop file to a QuickBooks Online company. Before you start, here are some important points to take note of:

  1.     You can only move a company file within 60 days after signing up to QuickBooks Online.
  2.     We recommend moving over your lists instead of your company file if you already set up payroll in QuickBooks Online.
  3.     Some of your lists and reports won't be converted because of feature differences.

I encourage you to take a look at this article which shows you how to: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online. If you're still having issues after, I recommend calling our phone support team at 1-877-772-9158. The hours of operation are 24/7 so you can call at your earliest convenience. Let me know if you have other questions.
