Office 365 Business compatible with Quickbooks Premier 2018?

Quickbooks: Premier 2018 (desktop, Canada)

Microsoft: Office 365 Business

Operating System: Windows 8, 64bit (8G RAM)

Is Office 365 Business compatible with Quickbooks Premier 2018?

 

Recently upgraded from Office 2013 to Office 365 Business (installed on my local machine, not web-based version).  Now QuickBooks will not allow me to export to Excel. Can only export to CSV... which mean I lose all my report headers and timestamps.  Arg.

 

Is there a fix to make these two programs work together?

SOLVED...

 

Office 365 Business is compatible with Quickbooks Premier 2018.   However, since Quickbooks Premier 2018 is a 32-bit program, you must use the 32-bit version of Office 365 Business.

 

Yesterday we uninstalled our 64-bit version of Office 365 Business, then downloaded and installed the 32-bit version.  Now full integration and functionality between Quickbooks Premier 2018 and Office 365 Business is restored.

Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community. In order for me to best help, I just want to clarify what you're looking to accomplish with your integration of Office 365 and QuickBooks Desktop.

 

Above you mentioned that QuickBooks will not allow you to export to Excel, only a .CSV file. Can you clarify what you mean by that? A .CSV file is Excel, so I'm not sure I completely understand your inquiry.


Based on your response I'd be happy to move forward and help you sort this out. :)

Please see image attached.  Excel options are greyed out.  Only CSV option is available.

Since your QuickBooks is compatible with your Office 365, let's troubleshoot the issue by toggling the User Account Control (UAC). This way, you'll have the option to export reports to Excel. Let me guide you how.

 

Before we proceed, please make sure that your QuickBooks version is up-to-date.

 

If updated, let's toggle the UAC in Windows. Here's how:


       1. Turn off UAC in your Windows 8.


              a. Select the Windows Start button.
              b. Go to User Account Control Settings.

  • Type Change User Account Control Settings and press Enter; or
  • Type Control Panel and press Enter. Select User Accounts, then Change User Account Control Settings.

              c. Move the slider to Never Notify. And choose OK.
       2. Restart your computer.
       3. Open your QuickBooks Desktop.
       4. Go to the Reports menu.
       5. Select the report you want to export.
       6. In the report, click the Export button.

 

Once done, all of the export options, including Excel, should now be available.

 

If the issue persists, I suggest reaching out to a qualified IT professional for further help.

You may try the Registry Repair of Glary Utilities. It is a free tool to clean and repair your Windows registry. Hope it helps.
