It can be frustrating when your invoices aren't showing the details you need, especially when you want to make sure your provincial tax info is clearly visible for your customers. I can help you get both registration numbers to appear on your PDFs.
QuickBooks Online pulls these numbers from your tax settings. If your QST number is missing, it usually means it hasn't been entered in the agency settings or the template needs a quick adjustment. Here is how to make sure your QST number is recorded:
- Go to Sales Tax and select Manage Sales Tax.
- Find the Revenu Québec agency, click the arrow next to Edit rates, and choose Edit agency settings.
- Enter your number in the QST Registration number field and click Save.
Next, you'll want to check your invoice template:
- Go to Custom form styles and edit your invoice template.
- Under the Content tab, click the header section of the invoice preview.
- In the Business details section, make sure the box for Tax Registration Number is checked.
If the number still doesn't appear exactly where you want it, a great workaround is to manually type your QST number into the Footer or Message box on that same Content tab. This ensures your customers have the info they need to claim their tax refunds.
